Daily Dose Letter
It is with great regret that I have to announce that Jim Young, Editor of Daily Dose, has decided to retire with immediate effect. Jim has worked with us for many years and he will be sorely missed.
Jim's decision to leave Daily Dose was taken following receipt of an email from a senior member of the NTA, which was perceived as interfering and hostile. In the past, another senior member of the NTA has tried to interfere with our editorial policy - as I pointed out, we are determined to maintain the independent nature of Daily Dose.
As a result of these events, we have decided to decline the NTA's offer of sponsorship for the coming year.
Jim's departure has occurred at a particularly unfortunate time. I am currently on holiday in Australia (until 25th April) with my three youngest children, who normally live in Dubai with their mother. We are staying in some places that do not have internet access, so it is not possible for me to take over Daily Dose immediately, as I would have done.
However, we will be re-launching Daily Dose next week, operating off a new content management system. This system will facilitate further developments in the way that we link to key material in this field.
Meanwhile, I apologise sincerely for this disruption in your service.
My very best wishes,
David
