Twitter contacts

Web Links As more people start using Twitter it becomes a fantastic tool for networking and sharing harm reduction information around the world. These are some of the great contacts I've made on Twitter while I've been using it. If you have never used Twitter, or you've only just started using it don't worry I'm writing an article to help get you started (which should be out within a week).

1 Claudia Bellocq
Blogger and sex worker rights advocate. Claudia is also an occasional contributor to Injecting Advice.com most of her Tweets reflect her passion in working for sex worker rights.
2 Transform
Transform is the main UK group working towards drug law reform. Great source of drug news twitters and opinion pieces.
3 HepC Trust
The main UK charity promoting information on hepatitis C, in my opinion this group need to twitter more often, but they are still worth adding to your 'follows'.
4 TED
The quality of information available from TED is obvious when you look at the ratio of follows to followers. Thousands of people follow TED. Not specific drug info but fantastic anyway
5 DrugPolicyNews
DPA Network is the USAs leading organization working to end the war on drugs. Quite an interesting and politically focused Twitterer.
6 Jamie Billingham
Jamie is a great twitterer and blogger, really interesting tweets about drugs work and social media. Also one of the most friendly twitterers you'll meet.
7 Overdose Girl
Meghan Ralston has only just started Twittering but looks like she's going to keep very focused on the subject of overdose, one to watch I think.
8 HepC council NSW
The twitter account for one of Australia's best HepC groups.
9 Hardly Normal
Hardly Normal is a prolific twitterer and blogger, he's currently travelling around the US raising awareness of the homeless situation.
10 Sillyoldactivix
Mauro Guarinieri is a great activist who focuses on drugs and HIV.
11 Kimikoe
Kimberly is a registered Nurse working in an inner city with injection drug users, sex workers, and the homeless. Really friendly and enthusiastic twitterer.
12 MeKron
Moshe Kron is another frequent twitterer, very good focus on drugs work resources
13 Covert User
Covert User is an injecting drug user on methadone. His tweets are always interesting and he is a wonderfully open twitterer.
14 Alex Stevens
Really good twitterer, great at pointing to interesting articles and research.
15 Addiction Expert
Sarah Graham's 'work' twitter account, one of the celebrities of drugs work (do we have celebrities?). Her other Twitter account is well worth following as well (@SarahGraham69)
16 DDN Magazine
I've put DDN into these links for completeness, but I do feel very disapointed in their twittering. For a publication that is free to view online AND delivers its print magazine free to people in the UK I hoped for more than just links to their own articles. Maybe some behind the scenes twittering would make them more interesting to follow/
