Well I'm going to be Twittering live from a conference again. Just in case you didn't already know DDN magazine and The Alliance are holding the 3rd National Service User Conference on the 4th of February in Birmingham. This is shaping up to be a great day, but don't worry if you can't get there as I've been invited to Twitter the whole day.

This time its going to be slightly different,for some reason I can't get the twitter updates to work right here on the site. But don't worry if you don't already use Twitter, you can still follow the conference here.

Joining in

For those of you who do already use Twitter you can join in on the conversation by using the hashtag #RHRN any messages showing that tag will automatically appear in the conference feed.

If you are interested in getting on twitter and joining the growing harm reduction community on there I recently wrote a Guide to Twitter for drugs workers that you might find helpful. The article also includes recommendations of people to 'follow', should help get you started.

  • Setting up an advocacy service – how to, why you need one, what your expectations should be
  • Naloxone – organising training in your area
  • Running a user magazine or website, and member communications
  • Healthy eating advice from Helen Sandwell, nutrition columnist
• NTA perspective – ‘Working with service users’
• Panel session- Your chance to discuss the big issues – Panel TBC
• Optional workshop re-runs,coffee and networking
