Hooked 43: Heroin Drought
This episode of Hooked was recorded at the end of January in the middle of the recent heroin drought, although in many places heroin is returning to its previous strengths its still something that I think we need to keep in mind.
We discuss the need to be aware of overdose issues and to talk to people about getting into treatment.
Don't forget you an find the free Drought poster and leaflet as well as the OD workshop here on the site.
You can either download the episode directly or better still you can subscribe to the podcast via iTunes which will automatically get each new episode as it comes out.
If
you're not someone who has listened to podcasts before, or if you have never even heard of them then we have an introductory article that explains all here.
Shownotes
The show was recorded in January 2011 just as we started getting heroin reappearing.
The main thing to remember is that during any shortage of heroin we need to be running overdose workshops and keeping people informed with good quality posters and leaflets that are current and timely.
We also mentioned the Cut report on drug adulteration, and the fact police are trying to take credit for it (impressive that UK police can impact so well on the whole of Europe)
The International Drug Policy Consortium has complied a report on the heroin shortage thats well worth reading.
