Hooked 35: Death penalty for drug use

Written by Nigel Brunsdon on 06 July 2010.

Hooked Podcast subscribe in iTunesWhile I was at the International Harm Reduction Conference in April I was lucky enough to get to talk with Patrick Gallahue and Rick Lines about IHRAs latest report into countries that use the death penalty as a punishment for drug offences.

Interviewing Patrick and Rick was really interesting, and of course scary. The fact that some countries seem to feel its appropriate to kill people based on the substances they are involved in was something I was aware of but the scale of the situation was a shock.

I'm afraid that because this was recorded during a conference the sound quality isn't as good as on a normal Hooked podcast.

You can either download the episode directly (link now fixed) or better still you can subscribe to the podcast via iTunes which will automatically get each new episode as it comes out.

Via iTunesIf you're not someone who has listened to podcasts before, or if you have never even heard of them then we have an introductory article that explains all here.

Shownotes

In this episode of Hooked I interviewed Patrick Gallahue and Rick Lines who both work for the International Harm Reduction Association.

The interview was recorded while we where at the IHRA conference in Liverpool.

You can read the IHRA report into the use of the death penalty for drug offences here.
