Hooked 33: Nicotine

Written by Nigel Brunsdon on 23 February 2010.

Hooked Podcast subscribe in iTunesSo a show on nicotine, at some point it had to be done, but was it really fair of me to not warn my co-host that we where going to do it. Especially as she'd only just stopped smoking.

We of course still did our best to approach the subject in our usual balanced way (which was difficult for Allison).

You can either download the episode directly or better still you can subscribe to the podcast via iTunes which will automatically get each new episode as it comes out.

Via iTunesIf you're not someone who has listened to podcasts before, or if you have never even heard of them then we have an introductory article that explains all here.

Shownotes

Isn't it terrible when you play a mean trick on a co-host. Allison really had no idea we where going to do a show on Nicotine.

Allison talked about the fact she's stopped smoking using Champix which is available on the NHS in the UK.

There are over 4000 chemicals in a cigarette but here is a discussion on some of the more interesting ones. Wikipedia has (as always) a good neutral page on nicotine.

The two books mentioned in the show where Alan Carr's 'How to stop smoking' and 'What is nicotine'.
