Hooked 16: Crack pipes

Written by Nigel Brunsdon on 29 September 2009.

Hooked Podcast subscribe in iTunesHooked episode 16 is all about crack pipes, and pipe harm reduction. We discuss some of the most popular home made pipes people use for smoking crack and go into fine detail on how best to avoid some of the related harms of these pipes.

This episode is we feel a really important one to get our there, from personal experience I know that there are plenty of drug workers and a fair few crack smokers who are unaware of some of the more important harm reduction messages when it comes to safer piping.

You can either download the episode directly or better still you can subscribe to the podcast via iTunes which will automatically get each new episode as it comes out.

Via iTunesIf you're not someone who has listened to podcasts before, or if you have never even heard of them then we have an introductory article that explains all here.

Shownotes

My own Crack Pipe Workshop, this is designed both as a training tool for staff and for running crack workshops with smoking crack users. Please note that this workshop will some be updated, I'll announce on the site when this happens.

Allison mentioned that there has now been a study confirming the viability of hepatitis C found on pipe stems, you can download the PDF of this study here.

And lastly a link to the National Needle Exchange Forum April 08 meeting presentations.
