PIED outcomes tool
Back in June I released the NSP Outcomes Tool This was an attempt to make a simple to use but flexable assesment/review tool that could be used in the relativly short time that most needle transactions happen in. Because of the need to make it so simple it unfortunatly didn't include anything around the use of steroids and other performace/image enhancing drugs (PIEDs).
So now I've designed a companion form to the NSP tool specifically for use with PIED users.
Heroin drought poster
There has been a heroin drought in the UK (and elsewhere) since last November, as any heroin users and drugs workers will already know.
There are many related risks to this, not least of which is what happens when the purer heroin returns (which some areas are already saying is starting to happen). I've made a poster an leaflet highlighting some of these issues. You are (as always on this site) free to download and use these as you see fit.
Self detox
his handout is designed to help people stop using heroin without the need for a substitute script.There are many reasons people chose to self detox, and over the years I've used versions of this handout with lots of people who tell me its helpful.
Overdose workshop
Each year we lose far too many people to overdose (lets face it, one person dead is 'too many') so I decided it was about time I wrote a new workshop to try and help address the situation.
This latest workshop covers a range of overdose issues and has been designed to be run either as a full workshop, or as separate sections in NSP or one to one sessions.
NSP Outcomes tool
Over the last year or so I've come across a lot of people talking about developing tools for monitoring 'Outcomes' in needle programmes, but I've yet to see one that actually manages to work in real life.
Over the last month I've been developing a tool for NSPs that may be a solution.
