New video and Creative Commons

This site is copyrighted under 'Creative Commons'. As well as allowing people to freely use all the tools and downloads this allows people to adapt them into new and interesting projects as long as they credit the original and allow others to do the same.
Jamie Billingham has taken advantage of the creative commons license to adapt the OD10 Report from last year into a lovely film using Animoto.
I'm always happy to find out that people are using and adapting the work I produce, this is why I use Creative Commons on the site. This is something I've spoken about before, I feel that any information tool developed to save lives should be freely adaptable. This doesn't mean people shouldn't be able to make money from selling their leaflets etc but that if people want to adapt those leaflets AND credit the original then this should be allowed.
The licence for this site (and all the tools on it) allows the following:
- to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work
- to make derivative works
As long as
- Attribution — You must give the original author credit.
- Non-Commercial — You may not use this work for commercial purposes.
- Share Alike — If you alter, transform, or build upon this work, you may distribute the resulting work only under a licence identical to this one.
These 'rules' can be waived at any point by me of course, for instance if someone out there wants to sell printed copies of the Steroid Assessment Tool that would be fine with me, as long as I get some of the money they make from it.
I'd encourage all activists and content producers working to improve the lives of people who use drugs to use these licenses on your work, so more people like Jamie Billingham can find creative ways of delivering your messages messages
